Bridget Ashery Gasabile, an ambitious Management Consultant, is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®), driven by a passion for technology and structured problem-solving. “My journey in project management is driven by a strong desire to bring structure and efficiency to the financial processes and projects that I work on,” she shares.
With a background in software engineering and experience in Mobile Financial Services, she found that project management principles provided clarity and efficiency in her work. Pursuing the PMP® certification was a natural step that allowed her to scale her expertise, ensuring she could effectively manage large financial projects.

How was Bridget’s Journey in Project Management?
Simple answer; it was an interesting journey, but if we want to get into the nitty gritty; Bridget started her career with a degree in Software Engineering, which gave her a strong technical foundation. However, she soon realized that technical skills alone weren’t enough. She explains “After graduation, I realized that technical skills alone wouldn’t take me where I wanted to go—I needed to build a broader set of skills and connections. So, I decided to volunteer, learn and engage with different communities that shared my values,”.
One of her first significant experiences was with the Internet Society, an organization dedicated to connecting underserved communities and ensuring that everyone has internet access. This opportunity exposed her to the transformative power of technology, and definitely the importance of digital inclusion inspiring her to create SheIsConnected, an initiative aimed at empowering young women by providing them with digital skills and access to new opportunities. “I wanted to help women break down barriers and discover how technology could change their lives” Bridget says.
As she advanced in her career, working in freelancing and the telecom industry, she recognized that project management was more than just overseeing tasks—it was about turning ideas into tangible results. This realization led her to embrace project management as a means to lead, coordinate teams and deliver impactful outcomes.

Facing Challenges and Embracing Learnings
Bridget faced workplace biases as she moved into leadership roles, a challenge many women in project management and other industries encounter. She states “Biases in the workplace are common challenges for women in leadership, but I learned that demonstrating results and professionalism breaks barriers”.
Her biggest lesson? Confidence and continuous learning are key to thriving in project management and any profession especially in leadership. By demonstrating results through well-structured project execution, she proved her expertise and earned her stripes and cemented her place in leadership roles.
A defining moment in her career was leading an international project that required coordinating multiple teams across different regions. The project posed several challenges, including tight timelines and communication barriers. However, Bridget’s strong organizational skills, strategic mindset, and ability to streamline workflows helped her deliver outstanding results. “This project reinforced the need for structured project management—without it, the complexity of the work could have easily led to inefficiencies and missed deadlines” she recalls.

How the PMP Certification Elevated Her Career
Earning the PMP® certification significantly enhanced Bridget’s ability to lead teams, structure workflows, and manage multiple initiatives. One of her most significant projects post-certification involved implementing an inclusive business analysis for the business partner, ensuring that gaps and problems were clearly researched and articulated while observing financial regulations.
‘The PMP® certification provided me with a structured approach to qualitative and quantitative analysis while carrying out risk assessment and compliance, which has been instrumental in my success,’ Bridget reflects.”
Beyond technical expertise, the PMP® certification provided Bridget with access to a global network of professionals, enabling her to exchange insights, best practices and cutting-edge strategies. “The PMP® certification has provided me with a deeper understanding of project management frameworks, tools and methodologies, which I can apply directly to real-world projects. This formal knowledge, combined with practical experience, has given me the confidence to manage more complex projects effectively,” she says.
The biggest career milestone for Bridget post-certification was a project in for an international organization, where she was part of the project implementation team tasks with the assignment to coordinate teams across different countries.
“My PMP® played a crucial role in an international assignment that involved coordinating multiple teams across different regions. The project came with several constraints, including tight timelines . However, with the knowledge and tools from my certification training, I was able to navigate these challenges effectively. It helped me stay organized, ensure clear communication across teams and track deliverables to make sure everything stayed on course and met deadlines” she explains.
Perhaps most importantly, the certification journey has empowered her to remain a lifelong learner. “The field of project management is constantly evolving, and having a certification ensures professionals remain adaptable, stay on top of industry trends, and continue to grow in their careers. The blend of structured learning and hands-on application has truly enhanced my ability to deliver high-impact results while developing as a leader in the field.”
